This month JDP have donated a length of 750mm twinwall to Hecklegirth Nursery in Annan, Scotland. The pipe is being used in the children’s outdoor play area for them to run through and experiment with sounds and textures. The children were also present when the pipe was delivered by our driver, using one of our specialist HIAB wagons.
The pipe was donated, completely free of charge from JDP and Naylor, and is usually used for highways drainage as a carrier pipe or for the disposal of surface or subsurface water. The pipe is made from polyethylene, with a black outer layer and a green inner layer and is the perfect height for small children to run through.
The 6m pipe is a great addition to the playground with Mr Palmer, HeckleGirth’s Head Teacher adding, “the impact has been great, STEM is really big in the Nursery at the moment: Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. The pipe gives the children the opportunity to go through the pipe, over the pipe to explore it, and to explore the sounds and textures. They can take resources into the pipe and use those so it’s been great. The children have loved it.”
